My FINAL Word on Dog the Bounty Hunter
As a professional in the bail enforcement community I do not support Duane Chapman as I believe he presents an unprofessional image. He preaches to the people who have failed to appear for their own court dates only after screaming and cussing at them and his costume looks more like something out of the WWE than the image presented by the bail enforcement agents quietly putting tens of thousands of fugitives in jail each year.
Everyday, I have to make excuses and defend the image of the fugitive recovery industry, ensuring police officers, judges and the public that I am not like Dog Chapman and neither are 99% of the other guys and gals in this business. I hear the same stories from all across the country.
I understand why some people are enamored with Chapman; I read every one of the surveys. Most of the pro-Chapman respondents look at him as someone who has turned his life around and is now something of hero by putting bad guys in jail and getting drugs off of the streets. Every bail recovery agent is a hero and, fugitive for fugitive, some of us are much more productive than Chapman.
He is not the greatest bounty hunter in the world… he is simply the most famous -
And that is a shame.
