he portrays bail enforcement in a silly kind of way
yes I know of Dog chapman. I think he portrays bail enforcement in a silly kind of way. His show is more for entertainment purposes than anything. He and one of his people are going to get hurt doing things the way the do. Just my opinion! Anyone who has common sense knows that is not how bail enforcement really is. Nice talking to you 102605
“Oh, so you’re going to be like ‘Dog’ Chaman”
This is my second reply to this post, but I thought you might find this interesting. Word is starting to spread around friends and family that I am looking into becoming a bail enforcement agent (BEA). If I hear one more person say “Oh, so you’re going to be like ‘Dog’”, I am going to lose it! (not really, I am a little more stable than that). It appears that almost everyone I talk to thinks that all BEAs work like ‘Dog’; engines racing and guns blazing.
Also, found this on the web about the US Recovery Bureau
The home page has an interesting Fox News video of BEA trainees getting pepper sprayed and SWAT attired agents charging into the wrong house after a fugitive. Have you heard of these guys? What jokes!

Karl
not big enough to be knocking people around
I do know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is. I've watched the show as a matter of fact I watched it last night with my son b/c he loves it. I think he has an interesting vocabulary but I also think that it's good that he tries to help people instead of just taking them to jail. Everyone needs incourgement even from the most unlikely of places. I became interested in fugitive recovery after watching the show. Of course I understand that it usually isn't like what you see him doing and thank goodness b/c I'm not big enough to be knocking people around. Hope this helps

Chapman's 'progressive' outlook on crime hurts all citizens
I have watched Dog's show 4 or 5 times, 2.5 hours of my life that I'll never get back.
I think Dog and his crew {mostly him and his wife} are mellow-dramatic, theatrical pacifists. "I don't believe in guns and I don't believe in killing" (Isn't he a felon from a murder charge?) is his corny motto, I think that is a very dangerous attitude to have if you are going to spend your life {and your families lives} tracking murders, rapists and pushers. While I don't want to kill anyone, ever, I most certainly will if me or my crew are in lethal danger. I also think his 'progressive' outlook on crime hurts all citizens, cops and other agents.
He has not, however, warped my view of the business, I know he is the exception not the rule. Hope that helps.
Chapman is on an island...where extactly can they go?
I just received your email message and here is the answers to the questions you asked.
1. yes to knowing who Duane Chapman is.
2. yes to watching his television show.
3. he makes it look to easy. In this profession it is not that easy to obtain criminals. Plus, he is on an island...where extactly can they go to?
Well all they have is mace to obtain the criminals. You will need more protection than that. They do not show any true confrontation and how they handle it. They do not show any training for new employees. Also, they do not keep low key with their apperances. Who exactly is getting all the real criminals. All he goes for is the drug out criminals, but he is not going for the people who is highly dangerous and deadly.
4.Well it has not affected my opinion negatively on the profession. I still would be intrested in this indrusty. However, I would like to have more training on protection and what weapons I may carry on me.
picking up people in paradise who cant flee
I find DOG very entertaining. However I feel that the show is fluffed and not realistic at all.Being a bail agent to me is pretty much the same as being a U.S marshall!! Duane seems to be a tuf guy has been that found god because someone gave him a break..Also look at where he is working.picking up people in paradise who are drug addicts and cant flee,or outstanding traffic issues..whatever ,I say bring that man over here to New york city and see what type of show he has then!! He would never make it!!.I have alot more to say but too tired..take care..
That takes "balls." I can't help but admire the guy
Got your email. I have indeed heard of "Dog" Chapman. When his show first came out I really didn't watch it, however I have been sitting down and really getting into it. I must admit I really enjoy it and thus enjoy Mr. Chapman himself. His "tactics" may seem a little out there to some, but it seems to get the job done. I also like seeing the genuine concern for the individuals involved. I've seen him on tv take the time to pray not just with his family, but also involve those who he took into custody. That takes "b*lls" to do to be quite blatant, and it show's he has a real heart. I can't help but admire the guy. I've read here and there about him and his past, but while others may use that to bad mouth the guy and his family, it hasn't changed my opinion of the him and what he does.
How has it affected my opinion on Bail Enforcement? It's made me even more fond of the profession and has certainly caused me to give a LOT of respect to these guys out there. It's kinda like COPS the TV show, for those who do not have any real up close experience/interaction with those in that profession, it certainly causes people to give Law Enforcement officials a lot of respect for what they do and how much they risk bringing justice to the streets. And helps shed some light on what they do, revealing not just the good but also the ugly side that people rarely get to see in everyday life. So in short, it has if anything given me a newfound respect for those in Bail Enforcement, and has certainly heightened my love for the profession.
That's just my personal take on the guy.
Sincerely,
John
ive always liked bounty hunters
Hi there i do know who dog is by watching his show, I think his show is good i think it opened alot of peoples eyes, and a lot of them now want to become bounty hunters now, ive always liked bounty hunters iam going to become that or become a cop, something ive always wanted to do is the catch fugitives. Well bye for now.
Duane Chapman: bible slapping fugitives went out centuries ago
1. Do you know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is?
Yes.
2. Have you watched his television show?
Yes
3. What do you think of him? Why?
He is quite a character. I'm not sure if all you see on TV is really him. He definitely over acts for this "reality show". I don't think he portrays a bond recovery agent correctly. Having a good heart and bible slapping fugitives went out centuries ago.
4. How has it affected your opinion of the industry and a career in bail enforcement?
It makes it look like a fun family business with no risks. He often reminds me of the crocodile hunter. The going gets going and he busts off his shirt and runs around like a wild man in the woods looking for his man. He really thinks he's a dog, or Tarzan, or Rambo. I could go on. For TV, its OK. In reality, I don't think he'd make it. That's why he's getting fat checks from A&E to hunt down what looks like staged busts. I could be wrong. But c'mon look at his wife. Who dresses like that? That stuff's gotta be fake.
the show seems like it is a little to glamorous
1. Do you know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is?
Yes.
2. Have you watched his television show?
Yes.
3. What do you think of him? Why?
He seems like he is pretty successful, but not knowing much more than they show on TV, you can't really tell anything about him. When you see something on TV it is too hard to tell what is real and what isn't to base any true opinion. I also do not really watch the show on a regular basis, the show seems like it is a little to glamorous from what the real life of it actually is.
4. How has it affected your opinion of the industry and a career in bail enforcement?
Not much, I am not interested in being on TV, I feel like this is something that I would be good at, I don't know a lot about the industry, but I am interested in learning about it. I know you can't just jump in and chase people, there is a lot of learning to do about what you can and can't do, what you can and can't use, etc... I am a good size guy, but I don't want to spend all my time wrestling with people, I figure there are many smart ways to get people. I used to find things (mostly people) for others. I was good at it, but no real money to make legally. I have a family of 5, and want to support them doing this eventually, I can see myself doing this for a long time.
I honestly didn't think he was a real "Bounty Hunter."
I love answering questions so I'd be glad to help :)
1. Yes I know who he is.
2. My fiance watches it so in turn I'd have to say: Yes, I've seen it.
3. I think he's funny, but I honestly didn't think he was a real "Bounty Hunter."He isn't as nice as the people I've met in your business area and doesn't seem to care about word of mouth referral, or plain old respect for fellow man. While yes, I am atheist, I do not agree with the fact that he seems to rationalize the cruel ways he treats some people with a prayer. My mother raised me to believe that you treat others the way you yourself would like to be treated. In light of that, I don't agree with the way he treats the people he comes across. It's as if he only respects his immediate family and not the general public. While I can respect what he thinks he is doing, I can't honestly say I respect the light he puts people like yourself in. I didn't get my interest in the Bonds business from him or from TV. To be real with you, my sister has been a convict and/or parolee since she was 12 years old: nearly 12 years now. I've been in the shoes of those people Mr. Chapman yells and curses at: The ones who pay the bail and don't know where the hell the fugitive is. That part personally pisses me off, pardon my language. I got interested when I was seventeen and realized that my experience with my sister and many other "bad guys" would be a good asset in some sort of business dealing with jailees etc. I mean like: Where would they go? What made them run? I've helped the police locate many a drug dealer or criminal by my experience in dealing with them. Even after that, the people that are busted hold no grudges against me and they are very respectful. They just know that I will try to uphold any law I can and that I will not lie if any man or woman of the law should they need information about someone I know. I respect them because they respect me. They know I am there to help them should they need help. I know that I can't do the highly physical part of the business (running etc.) So I have been trying to find either a part of the Bail Bonds Business (Skiptracing etc.) that can be maneuvered around my disabilities. I have always followed the law, so I can't be some big TV ex-outlaw like Mr. Chapman or anything like that. I don't hate Mr. Chapman or anything near that, I just don't think what he does is what I would like to do, or how I would like to portray myself.
4. I can't say Mr. Chapman or his show changes my opinion of any bail enforcement entity or agency, or sways it in any way. For his show to change my opinion on Bail Enforcement would be like Barney changing my idea of dinosaurs. He may be purple and fuzzy and able to speak, but that is just him and not the other dinosaurs. Make sense?
Hehe I appreciate you asking me questions to get a handle on my position. Thanks for actually taking an interest and not giving me a general answer! :)
If you need anything, graphic designs etc. just let me know. I do it in my free time, so it's always on the house haha

reality TV is just another form of entertainment
Yes I am aware of The Dog. I do watch the show as well as the HBO series Family Bond I believe reality TV is just another form of entertainment, some of the shows seems very fictional, but in a way it some time portray a good image for the profession, so in theory I don't always agree with everything I see. What you see is not as simple all the time to just make a phone call and that the fugitive will just walk in, lets be real about that, what they don’t show is the long hours put into surveillance, but in all that’s my opinion.
Paul
he also shows determination when apprehending criminals
1. Yes, I do know who "Dog" is.
2. Yes, I do watch the show.
3. "Dog" possesses a firm, but fair attitude. He always seems to be dedicated to his family and his job. Not only is he dedicated, but he also shows determination when apprehending criminals. His relationship with his family and criminals remain strictly on a proffessional level. A truely well respected man indeed.
4. In watching the show "Dog", it has actually made me consider becoming a bounty hunter. I always wanted to get into law enforcement, but I wasn't really sure of what field I wanted to persue. Watching "Dog" has helped me to make a decision!
I think any publicity for Bail Recovery is a good thing
Yes I am aware of who Duane "Dog" Chapman is. Yes I have watched his show maybe twice. The first time I thought it was a joke. So I watched it again just in case I was wrong. Nope. I was right it sucked. Don't get me wrong I think any publicity for Bail Enforcement is a good thing. However I cant say as I know any Agents who give a life lesson after a capture. Seems like insult to injury to me. Not only did I track your ass down and bring you to justice now you have to listen to a lecture the rest of the way back. Generally a try to dress incommodiously and blend in. They dress like an eightys rock band and then drive around saying they are getting to much attention. I guess in the end I am bring to critical of Duane and his show. After all I'm sitting here typing this and he is making a shit load of money just on royalties from the show. Personally I don't like the show however there must be an audience for it or it would not be on.
i will wipe my ass with dog chapman and his son
i am not going to tell you what i think, but what you want to hear and like some of your friends say, he is a cartoon, taking it to the next level of just being stupid, doing it for the money, and at the same time saying that he found jesus, when he did not even found himself yet. i think it's more for just fame and the money then for the love of the job. but to be real with you if something like that comes up my way i will jump at it too. weather i look stupid on tv or not. but from what i see most of the people who skip out, bail out on his ass are not much of a competition. i find them to be an easy crab, no hard work what so ever. i just dont understand how could someone go from being a felen to a bounty hunter. but i guess every state has it's own law about that matter, but i am more then sure if i was a con on the run and they step up to me i will wipe my ass with dog Chapman and his son. i will never let two people like that put cuff's on me or even let them spray me with that pepper spray shit. i will give them a run for the money and a fight for their life

Dog Chapman is in f-ing hawaii id like to see him run around chicago or ny
I watch dogs show as often as i can.
he seems fair. i respect the fact that his business is a family business. i also realize that this is a tv show and is edited for ratings or excitment or whatever so it is not an exact portrait of real life. he's just one agent who happens to have a tv show. to me he in no way represents the whole of bail recovery. plus he's in f-ing hawaii id like to see him run around chicago or ny in 10 below weather with his bad hip.!!!
Personally i think Duane Chapman is a alright person
Yes i know who Duane Chapman is. I have watched his T.V show a time or two.
Personally i think he is a alright person. He tries to help people as much as possible, i have seen him give people advise on what steps to take to better there life. My thought of "the dog" is, i respect the guy because he respects the people he runs in. I think the bail inforcment industry needs more people like him, but i know there are some out there that makes the industry look bad. Maybe oneday they will be weeded out. Hopefully ive answered your questions thouoghly if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
I would have to say he is a amateur
1. Do I know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is?
yes I do.
2. Have I watched his television show?
Yes onece or twice.
3. What do I think of him?
Well as a man I think he thinke he's the greatest man on earth. As a bounty hunter, it's tough to say, I dont know what is real and what is television.
but if everything is real then I would have to say he is a amature. the only good thing I see is he prays a lot.
Why? for starters, no vest to protect himself, no outer-were saying who he is incase the police show up. he thinks everyone is supose to know him. and speaking of that, there goes the supprize. I mean I'm no expert but if your going to be a bail enforcement agent, do go on TV and show the world what you look like.
4.How has it affected my opinion of the industry and a career in bail enforcement?
He does not affect me at all, we are two different people. his stile is nothing like mine.
I think his portrayal of a bounty hunter is wrong
1. yes I know of him, have seen his shows several times. I think he is an OK guy but I think he tries to showoff too much... basically they way he dresses, at least in my opinion is unprofessional... he tries to look like a badass... this may be what works for him, but I find a more professional attire works better... he has all kinds of gadgets strapped to his body and looks like a robot... his sons/employees all seem to mimic him.... I think the show is interesting, but I think his portrayal of a bounty hunter is wrong... to me, he seems like he wants to play "cops and robbers".... I dont work that way... I much prefer anonymity... i find you can get closer to your skip, AND you dont intimidate the people you interrogate... while I'm sure that way is needed for some of his skips... certainly not most of them... I find that a large percentage of skips really go quietly and appreciate the fact you dont make a scene in front of their family or peers

most common picture painted to people about boutny hunting
I would love to answer your question for you, after all you answered my
question, and very promptly at that, I appreciated that, thank you.
1. Yes, I know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is.
2. I have seen his show about 2 times, and that was 2 times too many for me.
3. What do I think of him? I have a few opinions about him, mind you they
are just MY opinions, I'm sure there are people out there who just love him,
I am not one of those people however.First of all I think he's a little to
full of himself, secondly, I really don't like the way he treats people he
is apprehending. True, they are criminals, but they are still people, some
who have just made honest mistakes, we all make mistakes and I don't think
anybody should be judged for them. I read in your website somwhere that you
said you treated your suspects with respect, I think that is how it should
be done. A smile and a kind word will go a whole lot further than, degrading
somebody or being generally too rough with them.
4. It hasn't given me anything negative to see about the profession. There
is a bad apple in every barrell so to speak, you have to overlook them. I
have seen shows about bounty hunting, Barb Wire was one of those shows, like
I said earlier, we all make mistakes. That is the worst but probably the
most common picture painted to people about boutny hunting, and from all the
reading I've been doing on it, it's totally off the mark. I'm even more
interested now in getting into the business than I was before, actually I've
pretty much made up my mind it's what I really want to do.
With that said, I hope you wouldn't mind if I asked you another question.
I'm in Tennessee and have read up on some of the requierments for fugitive
recovery agents. It states that you cannot have a felony record, as far as I
know I don't but let me ask this anyways to be sure. I have had a DUI and a
Public Drunk issued to me in 2000. Will they affect me getting into this
business? And by the way I did learn my lesson and decided to give up
drinking altogether, but, you can't erase your past. Like I said, we all
make mistakes, the big diffrence is whether or not you learned from it.
Thank you for your time, and by the way I just love your site, I think it's
the most informative one I have been to, and I give you kudos for being
straight up with your answers. Thanks again for your time.

there are enforcers out there doing a respectable job
. yes . yes . I think He's a good man w/ good morals and ethics, I believe He tries to helpo peopl;e to turn their lives around. I did have a dislike for bail enforcers because of something I witnessed. His show made me realize that there are enforcers out there doing a respectable job and helping everyone.
have aloha and the giving back to the community
i see what you are saying I was married to a hawaiian for 13 yrs and lived in hawaii for 7 of those 13 yrs he has what they over in hawaii have aloha and the giving back to the community there he also is genuwine in his attemps to be helpful to those in a time of need but you and i know you can not help every individual out there. He is a a little glamorized but as you see hes about his family and is from what i see a good natuyred guy in his attemps to do his job hes doing both bounty and bonds for this hes double dippen so it bewhoves him to do what he can to help them for his investment is both the bond and the bounty and just makes good business sense to have that rep out there on the streets to be approachable and to be known to be able to work with but not to be walked over too . since im emailing you im in fayetteville nc im a former SSG/E-6 infantry 82nd Airborn and there is no offices in this town for fugitive recovery and no one can seem to tell me the regulations on opening a office here in this town if you could i would appriciate it if you could give me any info on this or contack me. I just got home from Iraq as a civilian contractor as securities and supervisor of a major contract in kuwait and iraq im an ex ranger and been through special ops training and worked for hurst and rolfingmeier in chicago i have the back ground for this and the street smarts to do this business and looking to be asset to this community in this arena of work thanks for your time and hope i could awnser all the qs you had.

high percentage of apprehensions go without any violence
In response to you questions, I do know of Duane Chapman mostly from his TV show, which I have only seen a few times, and talk shows. I can not judge the man completely because I have only seen the side that the TV producers want the viewing public to see. From this he seems like a guy who cares about some of his fugitives because they remind him of himself. Like I said I have only seen the show a few times so I can't give an opinion on how he works his cases or if what he does is productive. I am currently a private detective working in Iowa for a company in Michigan. I personally have thought about the bail enforcement field even before I became an investigator. The company I work for may get involved with this industry and I am currently compiling information for them.
I know that all the shows on TV are edited together to give you drama and action sequences to get your blood flowing. I also know that the excitement you see on TV does not happen on every apprehension. I have read that a high percentage of apprehensions go without any violence or drama at all. I am also not under the delusion that this profession is not dangerous and that the simplest job can go completely sideways in an instant.
I hope my opinion helps you and anytime I can be of assistance please let me know.
Duane makes a good bounty hunter
in reply to your querry...yes i have watched the "Dog" quite a few times...
let me preface my opinion by telling you that i am a female, 45 yrs old, and i have been interested in the "industry" for many years, especially detective angles which is part of the bounty game from what i can see
i have led a VERY ???? "interesting" life and know my way in out and sideways of almost any lifestyle that i can imagine...i have, for various reasons, been involved in many "tracking quests" hunting down people who skipped out on some deals owing money or other goods in their wake, or finding out the degree of loyalty of persons who are trusted by someone in various endevours i think that bounty work would be something that i would enjoy because i love work that keeps me on my toes ( i currently work with adolescents with severe behavior/mental disorders) i also get the feeling that females may have an 'edge' in this business because they don't fit the typical mold
i think that Duane makes a good bounty hunter because he has "been there done that" and can relate to his clients as a result...i think that is an importiant factor in playing around in any endevours that walk you thru the edgier sides of life...
i can also see a change in him (and his crew) as the show has developed...they seem to be taking on a different personna, and personally i think they were much better off as they were in the beginning...its easy to let things go to your head, but walking around in the clouds can cause you to loose touch with reality and i think that can be detrimental in many ways.
my opinion of the industry hasn't been influenced by his show because, for one thing, ..... its T. V.!!!!!! television and reality are 2 different worlds also ..... his "territory" is on the islands which would be different than working on the mainland i am betting that there will be a peak in interest after the release of the Domino movie also many people are drawn to the glorified versions of what they believe a profession involves without knowing what the complete package entails
in any event thank you again for your interest in my opinion and for your efforts to help others who are interested in this profession

Mr. Chapman intern could be a very valuable resource.
1. I do infact know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is
2.I have watched his show on many occasions
3. I think that he has done well for himself, and that his ability to incorporate his family. Places and interesting view into reality t.v.
4. The T.V. show has not actually affected my opinion of the "industry" I have actually been in some form of Law Enforcement or another since I was 19. Although I think that the show is a great liability. Few people realize how dangerous it can be and how much paperwork is involved and the long stressful hours of watching your hard earned money running in the distance as fast as it can from you. I think that there is a lot to be learned and that Mr. Chapman intern could be a very valuable resource.
Please remember these are opinions and opinions only they are not intended to be used for educational purposes, or to be confused as facts. I hope this has helped you find away to reach your clients.

There Are No Bounty HUnters in Canada
Well yes I have seen his television shows. I think that they just show the Bounty Hunter chasing his fugitive. Any thing to fit inside an hour show. I know that thers a hell of alot of leg work and must be alot of fustrating times in this profession.
Ill tell you I for years have wanted to be a Bounty hunter but to no avail have been told ...numerousley that "We dont do that kind of work here in Canada" I was around 25 yrs old when I reserched this profesion. I spent almost 6 months tryin to find out of were to go to learn more.
Well as you could imagine I was totaly let down and till just recently have picked the intrest back up. As for Dog sure its entertaining but its about as entertaining as watching COPS the tv show. It never goes into detail that theres more work behind the scenes. Im sure you know what I mean.
Now please allow me to ask you a question. Are there bounty hunters out here in Canada or am I truely barking up the wrong tree? I trust you could tell me cause I belive that you have been in the professioin for quite some time.
Hope to hear from you soon.

"Darn, you caught me!"
I've watched "Dog-The Bounty Hunter" a few times.
I don't know enough about bounty hunters to give a true opinion of how "life-like", I find the show to be.
I have a friend, who know's a bit about bounty hunters and he says, the shows not very realistic.
It seems to "nice" and easy. Perhaps in some areas, when someone who has skipped bail is caught, says "Darn, you caught me!" but I seriously doubt it!!!
I saw the movie "Domino" today(10/18), based on a true story of a female bounty hunter by the name of Dominio Harvey. It was really enlightening, in some of the situations she encountered as a bounty hunter in the movie. I don't know how correct the movie was, but I could see some of the scenarios as real life scenario's a bounty hunter might possibly face.
I would like to know more about becoming a Bounty Hunter. Do you have to be 21 to become licensed? Is their any physical requirements? I would like to learn more indept about what your profession is like.
I'm in my second year of college as a Criminal Justice major, so i'm really starting to try to see what's out there. Thank you for your time, sorry it's taken me so long to reply!
Sincerely,
~Lindsay

The standard needs to be higher
From Michael on 10/17/05
Yes, I have watched the Bounty Hunter Television series. The show seems to be playing up the profession, as all television shows seem to. It's nice to see a family work and bond together and seeming grow closer because of the show. But in my opinion if you are in the profession of bringing in criminal"s you should not have ever been one yourself. the standard needs to be higher for any man or woman whom has anything to do with enforcing the law"s.So I feel at this point the show is enjoyable it has defiantly tainted my opinion on the standards"s on Bail bonds man.
Thanks FOR THE Opportunity TO OFFER MY OPINION
MICHAEL
Mr. Chapman sincerely wants to help those who he pursues
Hi,
I am familiar with Mr. Chapman. I have watched his show and find it very much different than what i thought it to be originally. I find that he has a real human side to himself and sincerely wants to help those who he pursues and catches. I also realize that this is very much a business to hima dn he is not out here for non-monetary reasons.
Time is money and and it can become costly to pursue and apprehend someone, so time is money and this is serious business as you are aware.
In watching his show, I feel that my interest has only been highened in wanting to do this. I see this as a service to the community and any help that can be given to law enforcement, they are grateful for. I have spoken to several police officers in Dallas Tx, Ft. worth Tx as well as Irving, Tx and they all said, we will never interfere with a bail enforcement agent doing the job at hand, they are cooperaive.
the way he reach's out to the people is very posotive
From Damon,
Yes i do know who Duane Chapman is, i watch his show on a regurlar basis and i think that he is a outstanding individual. He has his own style and aproach to his trade. He is very effective and has gotten him to where he is today.I personaly think that the way he reach's out to the people is very posotive he try's very hard to show them that there are other ways and that he tends to care more about just the average joe and thats something you do not see often today.By putting himself out there and trying to make a difference it has shown people like myself that going the extra mile can be rwarding and if i should find myself in the postion to suceed in this field i hope that maybe i can have atleast the slightlest impact in helping better others myself and the community in which i live.
If you skip bail and you do a crime...
From John,
yes i do and i watch his shows and he is cool and i would like to be just like what he is doing and if you skip bail and you do a crime and you get bail and you do show up for court and the person that gave you bail and if he revoke your bail i belive that they are doing the right thing and that you should be in jail for it and i like it it alot and thats why i wanted to try and do it and i am asking you to tell me how to chase wanted fugitives.
A Little Over Dramatic
Thanks you for your questions. I hope this helps.
1. Yes
2. Yes, three times.
3. I believe that the show is scripted to some extent and that the people who are in the show are a little over dramatic. The whole thing is a bit over done. But if it is making him money then I guess he's better off. I would think that his business would suffer because he loses the element of surprise by being so recognizable.
4. I don't think that it makes much of a difference to me as to how it effects the industry, because he is not real in the way he portrays the job. Sure you can act that way but I would prefer less obvious methods and no media exposure. I believe that we are best not seen and not heard. If there is any up side to the exposure he brings then it might be that the public may have a better understanding of the necessity fugitive recovery and that benefits us all.
If I can be of further service please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you.

I would never trust the man to watch my six.
Hello,
Here my answers to the questions that you asked.
Yes, I am aware who Duane "Dog" Chapman is.
Yes, I have watched his show once or twice.
I personally think that the man is all talk and very little show. I think that if he had to actually track down a hardened felon ho would be in trouble. As a ex-Army Ranger I would never trust the man to watch my six. I believe in a serious operation he would get himself and others around him hurt.
It has not affected my opinion in anyway. Every industry has its goob.
Thank You,
John
Dawg Chapman- he's very goofy looking
From Veronica on 10/15/2005
Hello,
Yes I know who he is and have watched several episodes of his show. I think that he's very goofy looking walking around with his handcuffs and bullet proof vest on while he's going out to dinner. Very un-professional. Also not a very tactial move. One episode I watched Duane was going after someone was supposed to armed and dangerous . He had tons of silver studs on his belt and some silver braclet that rattled as he walked, again I say not very tactial. I was very interested in bail enforcement before his show ever came on.

I can make a difference in all types of peoples lives
1. Do you know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is?
Yes, I Know who Dog is. I watch his show and A&E.
2. Have you watched his television show?
Yes, I have Watched his show before and I still do.
3. What do you think of him? Why?
I like him, becasue of the fact that he seems to be a really nice guy to people that are nice to him, and also he wants to help the people that he catches on find a job and getting their lives strighted out for the better.
4. How has it affected your opinion of the industry and a career in bail enforcement?
It has affected be by showing me that I can make a difference in all types of peoples lives, and also to put those people that belong in jail into the jails and for the others that have to go to jail but that want to change their lives a second chance at a good life. That is the whole reason that I want to have a career in Bail Enforcement.
Joshua Armstrong and the Seekers is the Best Approach
From Sam:
Hi,
To answer your questions,
1. Yes I do know who Duane "Dog" Chapman is.
2. I have watched his television show.
3. Although I respect him, I think he portrays the wrong idea of a bail enforcement agent. He's to publicised and looks like a wanna-be mercenary rather than a discreet (more effective) bail enforcer. I think the best approach to bail enforcing is the road Joshua Armstrong and the Seekers take.
4. I know the real attitude and approach to bail enforcement, so the television show has not effected my thinking of the industry. It just shows me the way not to do it.
Duane Chapman Obviously Loves His Family a Lot
From Marc:
1. I do know who Dog is.
2. I actually just watched his TV the other day.
3. I think he is a great guy for a number of reasons. He obviously loves his family a lot, which in these days is not always a given, so I respect his for that. He also shows a lot of compasion and respect to the fugitives he apprehends.
4. I don't really think he has changed my views on bail recovery. I understand that every town in America would have different violence levels and, although I haven't seen many of Dog's episodes, I never see him carrying a gun or anything. That may be because he is an ex-con, but I've never really seen him in a situation where his life was in danger. And I know that will be part of my daily life, if I do descide to go into Bail Recovery.
I hope I was useful to you.
God bless
Marc

When a fight breaks out Dog Chapman always runs.
From John Doe:
I think Duane Chapman is a very good bounty hunter. The reason is that he knows how to track them and how to capture them without getting his team hurt or the person he is after. I think he is a tough guy, But also has a lot of smarts, Including street smarts. I think his team is very well trained and is a very well team to have to help you. I have watched about all of his shows and I enjoy all of them. He keeps getting better and better at coming up with great plans. I have friends that say, That he always claims the capture even when someone else got the Fugtive. They also say that he lets the team do the dirty work. By always letting one of his team members go into the house and get the person. When a fight breaks out, He always runs for it. Like the time all those people attack Leland and he stood there and hollard hey and just stood way back there and tried to spray them with mase. I do not agree with them. I do think he dose do a little bragging and takes a little bit of credit that belongs to someone eles. But, He is the greatest and has the right to brag alot. I think he handles all the situations correctly. I think it because, I have learned that bounty hunters have laws to obey that is diffrent then the cops. They have to be careful not to hurt anyone or kill anyone. I have to add this, After watching other bounty hunters, Dog seems a little bit less hardcore and can lead to misunderstanding about bounty hunters. People will not know exactly the role of bounty hunters and people will think anybody can do it. Dog's show seems to let people think bounty hunting work is easy money and not dangerous. I have study alot about bounty hunters and the role they play and the life they live. The best show ever if considering this type of work is a show I watched about a bounty hunter in CA, That people call the godfather. I can not think of the name at this second, But I watched the whole show and still wanted to do the work. The name is on the tip of my tongue. I have wanted to do bail enforcement work since I was a freshman in high scho
