From Mark on 10/6/05:
I do know who Duane Chapman is, but I have not watched his TV show. I have how ever seen some of the advertizing spots for it and I wasn't impressed, it seemed to me like there were trying to copy Lorenzo Lamas "Renegade". I have not watched the show so I can't say how they are doing about the reality aspect of the profession, but from the previews it apearred like they were trying to make it look glamorous all of the time. I feel that any type of reality show that is aimed at a prefession, does not, and can not show all of the behind the scenes work that is needed for the outcome in the show that you see. Ex. TV show "Cheaters" (about cheating spouses and private investigators) shows the PI when they are finding clues but can not show that it took him two weeks of unsucessful surveillance, "Cops" is the same way, they show you the calls that they respond to but not the driving around for who knows how long between calls. The shows are entertaining but are not something that people should use as a comparison tool to the real profession.
